500 Hour Service Interval Guide for a Ditch Witch SK755 – Part 4

In the previous post, we serviced the inline fuel filter on the Ditch Witch SK755 mini skid steer.

Part 4 will cover how to change the engine air filter. Although not associated with the 500 hour service interval, changing an air filter is one of the easiest tasks when servicing heavy equipment. As our Yanmar C50R 500-hour service guide encourages, don’t settle for a particular service interval to check the air filter.

We also have a video version on the Tekamo HD YouTube channel. Check it out.

Out With The Old, In With The New

Release the two clips on the housing cap, remove it, and thoroughly wipe it with a clean rag. Then, pop out the dust valve and check for dust and debris buildup.

To remove the filters, wiggle them and pull them out.

Wipe out the inside of the housing, but do it with the inner filter installed so it catches anything that might fall into the engine.

Press the filters until they are seated all the way on, put back the cap, and you’re done. The cap on most units includes a top mark. In any case, the dust valve must go at the bottom so that debris builds up there and gradually comes out due to vibration.
